Plot Information: The plot of the first book is vastly different from the last two, being told by a different character. The Rook follows Michael, a young boy caught in an unfortunate shipwreck and an even more horrible situation following that, who comes to be haunted by a terrible demon who calls himself the Rook.

The problem is that the Rook is being stalked and hunted by other monsters of his own race due to a terrible crime he committed in the past. What's a human to do when caught in the midst of a supernatural war? Not much, it seems; the tug-of-war continues when others enter into the picture. With no home, family, or friends to return to, Michael is stuck with his demon protector, as much as he hates it. But at least it's keeping him alive.

For now.

Cast Information:

Michael Sante:
Age: ten at introduction
Gender: Male
Race: human
Personality: Michael starts off as a little boy who simply wants his parents back. He's a little quiet, a little shy, but isn't afraid to get snarky if pushed. He cares deeply for his family and friends (which often gets him into trouble with the Rook). He doesn't like the Rook or what he's done, but he will choose him over any other demon they come across, so that has to say something, right?

The Rook:
Gender: Male (possibly)
Race: demon
Personality: The Rook is selfish, but then again, all demons are selfish. He's physical in everything he does, and that mostly turns into violence. He seems to care about Michael, but whether as a pet or a meal is unknown. He doesn't like any other demons and is, more often than not, in trouble with them for doing crazy, silly little things like running off with the Ram's skull once upon a time. He doesn't blend in with humans very well and does not like his wings injured.
Power(s): taking life, flight

The Rabbit:
Gender: Female (possibly)
Race: demon
Personality: As a demon, the Rabbit is selfish, too; she simply shows it in different ways. She's possibly the 'kindest' demon, since she rarely shows violent tendencies, and instead channels her energies into sexual things. She masquerades as a prostitute or call girl most of the time, and is one of the better demons at blending in with humanity. She cares for Michael and wants to take him away from the Rook, and claims that she's the only one who could be kind to him. She doesn't like the Rook.
Power(s): enhanced speed, slightly enhanced sense of smell, slightly enhanced sense of hearing, lookin' damn hot

Tuesday Olson:
Age: nineteen at introduction
Gender: Female
Race: human
Personality: Tuesday is a warm, caring, motherly girl who attaches herself firmly to Michael during their time on the island. She's a little on the quiet side and enjoys reading, having a fair amount of knowledge about the literary world. She has a silver charm bracelet given to her by her boyfriend that she wrings around her wrist when she's nervous.

Silvermin:
Age: late thirties at introduction
Gender: Male
Race: human
Personality: Silvermin is a businessman, and as such, often approaches life's problems with a shrewd, practical air. During the island arc, however, this doesn't get him very far. He doesn't seem to know how to deal with children or teenagers and never married, so it's not like he has any of his own. He is quite the chocoholic and has a bit of an English accent. He has a rather shady business deal with a man named Remington.
